Learning about it should be too.
Designed to provide in-depth learning in a self-paced or a guided format with an instructor and/or a community of practice, these courses will provide a foundation in critical analysis and creating media. There is even a course in planning for media literacy in the classroom.

Length: Each course can take up to 15 hours, depending on the chosen path.
HOW TO READ MEDIA MESSAGES
This course will help educators to deconstruct
media messages and students develop their critical and analytical skills while increasing engagement with media-based activities. It puts the media literacy framework into practice and provides a foundation for understanding media.
MEDIA MAKNG IN THE CLASSROOM
This course applies tools for collaboration in teaching and for student learning. Themes are video, audio, graphic, collaboration, and presentation. Participants play with one tool per module to strengthen their media-making skills to use for student-assigned projects.
CREATING MEDIA ACTION PLANS
The creation of plans helps educators plan for a
comprehensive unit in class aligned to standards. Topics explored are instructing with media, teaching about media, student learning and assessing projects. This course should follow courses or workshops in reading and creating media. It is for educators in K-12 and higher ed.
CRITICAL DIGITAL LITERACY
This course applies digital learning practices.
Its aim is to prepare educators with 21st century
competencies, digital making, collaboration, Online Education Resources, and digital citizenship.
RESPONSIBLE SOCIAL MEDIA
How we consume, create, share and behave matters. We will create better social media habits in the lawless world of the socials, including online safety and strong security.
